How Much Do Luxury Wedding Invitations Cost? A 2026 Price Guide
Luxury wedding invitations cost from around £5.50 per invitation for a gold foil card on heavy cotton stock to £30 or more for a velvet boxed suite. For 100 guests you usually need 62–72 invitations — one per household — so most couples spend between £350 and £2,200 on their invitations, before envelopes, extras and postage. Here is exactly what drives the price, with real figures from our own collections.

What 100 Guests Really Costs
Invitations are sent per household, not per guest: couples and families at the same address receive one. For 100 guests that is usually 62–72 invitations — our wedding invitation calculator works out your exact number. With 70 invitations and our automatic 3% volume discount for 61–70 pieces, a typical order looks like this:
- Gold foil card — about £373
- Clear acrylic — about £390
- Velvet folio — about £1,443
- Velvet boxed suite — about £2,156
What Makes an Invitation Cost More
Material. Cotton card and acrylic sit at the accessible end; velvet folios and boxed suites take longer to make by hand and use more material, which is why they cost several times more.
Foil and finish. Every design includes the foil shown on it. Extra foil — on an insert, a belly band or an envelope liner — is priced by area; our foil stamping estimator gives an indicative figure.
Envelopes and details. Velvet envelopes start from £3.25, and liners, wax seals and extra inserts such as RSVP or details cards add to the total.
Quantity. Our minimum order is 50 pieces, and the price per piece drops automatically as you order more — from 2% off at 51 pieces to 21% off at 291 and above. See pricing and discounts.
Shipping. Orders travel by DHL Express. For the UK, EU and USA they are shipped Delivered Duty Paid, so the price at checkout is final — no customs charges on arrival.
How to Keep the Cost Down
- Count households, not guests — it often saves a third of the order
- Choose a foil card as the main invitation and add a velvet envelope for the luxury moment
- Put travel and accommodation details on your wedding website with a QR code instead of extra inserts
- Order 5–10 spare invitations now — a reprint later costs more than a few extras
- Order a sample first, so you choose the material once
